Uniform Particle Size Resin
Advantages and disadvantages of uniform particle size resin.
DESCRIPTION
Uniform particle size (UPS) resins attempt to have every single bead exactly the same size. Some manufacturers try to accomplish this by screening the resin. This is not as uniform as can be produced by manufacturers that use “jetting” to produce the resin beads.
USES
UPS resins are used to improve operation in ion exchange systems that have inferior internal distribution and collection systems. They are used in high flow rate applications such as condensate polishing to reduce pressure loss. Some UPS resins are also fine mesh resins and are used to improve chemical efficiency.
