What are PFAS? 

Per- and Polyfluoroakyl substances (PFAS) are a group of man-made chemicals characterized by a strong Long-Chain bond between fluorine and carbon. The strength of this bond gives PFAS compounds their durability and a resistance to natural degradation which has led to them often being referred to as “forever chemicals”. Their remarkable characteristics to repel both oil and water gives them the ability to be utilized in a broad array of applications including; nonstick cookware, water repellent clothing, stain resistant fabrics and carpets, some cosmetics, some fire fighting foams. It is unfortunate that the very same characteristics that provide value in commercial applications are what make the compounds particularly difficult to destroy.

Why the PFAS Terminator?

The PFAS Terminator addresses this challenge with a maintenance-free design that requires no chemicals, salt regeneration, backwash cycles, control valves, or electricity. Available in multiple tank sizes to accommodate flow rates from 10 to 30 GPM, the system integrates seamlessly with existing residential plumbing. Each system is filled with certified, lot-traceable media made in America, ensuring consistent quality and performance.

For optimal protection and system longevity, we recommend installation in a lead/lag configuration with pre- and post-cartridge filtration. Optional flow meters with totalizers help monitor throughput and establish maintenance intervals. The system preserves naturally occurring minerals like calcium and magnesium while maintaining pH levels, delivering healthy, great-tasting water without adding sodium—a common byproduct of traditional water softeners.

The PFAS Terminator is a complete whole-house filtration system engineered to remove PFAS contamination from every water outlet in the home. Unlike point-of-use systems that only protect drinking water at a single tap, the PFAS Terminator ensures that showers, appliances, ice makers, and every faucet deliver water free from harmful "forever chemicals."

At the heart of the system is ResinTech's SIR-110-HP ion exchange resin, a Gold Seal certified media specifically formulated for PFAS compounds. This specialized resin offers up to 10 times greater capacity than traditional granular activated carbon filters, with faster kinetics that allow for 2x the flow rate and reduced contact time. The result is superior performance that meets the EPA's strict new drinking water standards for PFAS.

Recommended Installation

For optimal performance, redundancy, and safety, we recommend:

Dual-tank lead/lag configuration with pre- and post-cartridge filtration for maximum protection and extended service life
Flow meter installation to monitor throughput and establish resin replacement timing
Pre-filtration if water hardness exceeds 10 grains per gallon

Single-tank systems are available for budget-conscious installations but may require more frequent water testing to monitor performance and prevent contaminant breakthrough.
